SUMMARY:VA Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to Observe Memorial Day
DESCRIPTION:U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (IGNC) announced it will host its 44th annual Memorial Day Program on Sunday\, May 24\, 2026\, at 2 p.m. rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. This year's program is cosponsored by the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Memorial Council and the Disabled American Veterans\, Department of Pennsylvania. \n\nJohn Spruyt\, director of IGNC\, will welcome the audience. USMC Sergeant Major (Ret) Joseph A. Staudt will deliver the keynote address. Joseph Snyder\, Memorial Council Vice President\, will serve as the master of ceremonies. \n\nParking will be at MSC Industrial Supply Company\, 100 MSC Drive\, Jonestown\, located just east of Fort Indiantown Gap. There will be shuttle bus transportation to and from the PA Veterans Memorial. If the public is entering from the west\, the detour around Fort Indiantown Gap is on Biddle Drive then Quartermaster Road and back to Fisher Avenue. There will be limited handicapped parking at the Cemetery itself. \n\nThe Avenue of Flags display at the Cemetery is partially disrupted because of the current expansion project but it will return as soon as possible. Once back in place\, it will be flown through Veterans Day Week. The Avenue of Flags is made up of casket flags that have been donated by Veterans' families. State\, territories\, and service flags are also being flown. Flag donations can be dropped off prior to the program.
