This autumn has been very full with educational seminars, mixers, and more! Let's look back on the last few months. 


2018 Mega Mixer
The 12th Annual Mega Mixer was hosted at the Army Heritage Education Center. The Carlisle Barracks co-hosted with four of the area Chambers of Commerce. So many sponsoring members made this event possible: Members 1st Federal Credit Union, UPMC Pinnacle, Rose Metal
Systems, Konhaus Print & Marketing, and the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation. Over 500 members were in attendance.









Women 4 Women: One Woman's Camino

For our September Women 4 Women event, we invited published author, Tracy Pawelski, to speak about how she reinvented herself while walking the 500 mile trail, el Camino de Santiago. UPMC Pinnacle was the presenting sponsor, Jacqueline Powell and Associates was the hospitality sponsor, and The Carlisle Vault was the host sponsor.






Opioids in the Workplace Breakfast

Judge Jessica Brewbaker emceed our Opioids in the Workplace event where we heard about the scope of the opioid epidemic and personal stories of the effect of addictions.

Classic Drycleaners Member Mixer

Classic Drycleaners hosted our September mixer at their Carlisle location. Attendees enjoyed demonstrations of some of the equipment, up-close magic, and a live musician.

ColorMaxx celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 28.

Juniata Valley Winery at Hat Creek Farms celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 4.






Business Achievement Award 

Gary C. Heishman, co-founder of Allen Distribution, was honored as this year’s Business Achievement Award winner. Thank you to First National Bank and Martson Law Offices for sponsoring this exciting event!









2018 Annual Meeting

The 2018 annual meeting was filled with a lot of reflection, celebration, and excitement as we look towards the new year.

We honored the winners of the Annual Chamber Awards:
The Star of Excellence Award was awarded to Carol Lennon, volunteer at the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County.
The Business Executive of the Year was awarded to Lucy Zander, executive director of the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County.
The Young Business Leader of the Year was awarded to Ashleigh Goss, co-owner of Market Cross Pub and Brewery. And the Diplomat of the Year was Barrie Ann George, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capitol Region.

We, with Hot Deals sponsor Belco Community Credit Union, celebrated the 2018 Hot Deals Awards winners.

We also celebrated our president and CEO, Michelle Crowley’s, 20 year anniversary with the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce.

Kathleen Pavelko, president of WITF Public Media, capped off our day of celebration by sharing about the current media revolution and what she sees as the future landscape for the media.

The Sentinel Ribbon Cutting

The Sentinel celebrated the opening of it's new location on B Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The county commissioners made a proclamation.
