Growin’ Green with Penn State Master Gardeners
Cumberland County, PA – Youth ages 4 to 6 will have an opportunity to spend fun learning time in the garden with Mom or Dad at the Growin’ Green with Master Gardeners program. Held at the Penn State Extension office on Allen Road in Carlisle, this program offers youth and parents or grandparents the opportunity to explore gardening together on Friday, August 3, 2018.
Youth will enjoy a story in the Sunflower House, harvest fresh fruits and vegetables, make sweet treats, and learn about the parts of plants and how they grow through a scavenger hunt and relay race in the Allen Road Gardens.
A parent or guardian must remain with the child throughout the program. The same program will be offered at two different times on Friday, August 3, 2018: in the morning from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and in the afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
The program is limited to 10 preschoolers per session, along with their parent or guardian, and the registration fee of $5.00 per child covers program materials and take-home items. Please select one of the two sessions to attend. Registration is required by August 1, 2018. To register, visit https://extension.psu.edu and search ‘Growin’ Green with Master Gardeners’, or call Extension Registration Support at 1-877-345-0691.
