Career Engagement Specialist

The Advising, Internships, and Career Center (AICC) is Dickinson’s distinctive integrated approach to academic advising, internship, and career. The work of the Employer Relations and Career Development team within AICC requires a balance of effective relationship management, goal orientation and strong program facilitation.

As a core member of the Employer Relations and Career Development team, the Career Engagement Specialist will report to the Associate Director and work closely with the Dean and Director to enhance constituent relations and provide career readiness to students. The Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of local, regional, and national employers, and is responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining effective relationships to maximize recruitment at Dickinson. This role works to attract and maintain strong and engaging relationships with employers, alumni, campus partners and students through continuous and effective outreach. The Specialist will have administrative responsibility and oversight of the college’s career prep pathways program and manage career-related marketing and communications.

Essential Functions:
 

 

  • Designs and implements winter break career prep pathways programs including: Recruiting alumni mentors, coordinating employer site visits, and launching skill building programs. Promotes opportunities, develops and presents information sessions, communicates with students and alumni, encourages participants to report and evaluate their experiences.
  • Develops and implements employer research/outreach strategies in partnership with Associate Director, including cultivating a portfolio of employer relationships, management of job and internship postings in Handshake, and promotion of opportunities to students. Analyzes Handshake, LinkedIn & AlumniFire data to strengthen employer/alumni engagement.
  • Designs and executes strategic marketing and communications plan for the center—- including social media, print newsletters and promotional pieces, website, and digital communications.
  • Coordinates Industry Immersion Week programming including securing alumni speakers, managing logistics, collaborating with faculty and academic departments, and promoting to students.
  • Provides career advising to deliver elevated student support for Dickinson Connected opportunities and initiatives.
Required:

Bachelor’s Degree

Valid PA Driver’s License
