Special Services Assistant Manager

The Special Services Assistant Manager (SSAM) is responsible for total daily operation of department’s varied special services. This includes sanitation, safety, food production and presentation; following policies established by management; recruiting, scheduling, and training employees; positive customer relationship management; and tasks related to sales collections and reporting. The SSAM reports to the Special Services Operations Manager (SSOM) for any additional assignments. Assumes responsibilities of Manager in their absence.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for managing staff and student employees. Assists with scheduling including problem-solving with coverage gaps and utilizing online scheduling software. Some hands-on work is required including serving behind the counter alongside staff.
  • Ensures necessary products are on hand for units and ensures inventory is completed in a timely manner with the Special Services Operations Manager.
  • Supervise and directs operations staff in order to ensure a high level of quality service.
  • Uses standard methods of production and ensures staff follow HACCP and ServSafe procedures while providing top-quality products and presentation.
  • Interacts with customers to ensure customer satisfaction in a friendly courteous manner.
  • Helps lead dining services in various locations on an as-needed basis. Provides supervision for large catered weekend events.
  • Assists in managing, maintenance and programming of various hardware and software. This includes point of sale quarterly updates, programming macros for troubleshooting, and integrating online ordering with point of sale and meal plan systems.

High School Diploma or GED

1-3 years work experience
