Persimmon Awards 2026

The Persimmon Awards celebrate leaders whose dedication, service, and impact continue to strengthen Cumberland County and the surrounding community. Hosted by the YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County, this annual event honors individuals who exemplify the values of leadership, advocacy, compassion, and community engagement through both their professional achievements and personal commitment to service.

This year’s honorees represent a remarkable cross-section of public service, education, justice, and community leadership. Honorees include Judge Jessica Brewbaker, recognized for her leadership within the judicial system and her commitment to rehabilitation-focused courts; Commissioner Jean Foschi, whose extensive public service work continues to shape county initiatives and regional collaboration; Whitney Baker, an educator whose impact on students and youth extends far beyond the classroom; Sandy Musser, whose decades of leadership at YWCA Carlisle helped expand programs and strengthen support for women, children, and families; and Trooper Kelly Smith, whose work in community engagement continues to foster trust, mentorship, and meaningful connection across the region.

The evening will feature a keynote address from Ashley N. Walkowiak, Executive Director of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women, along with honoree recognitions, storytelling, and celebration of the individuals making a lasting difference in our community.
