The Quality Technician will drive activity of the quality assurance department, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Supports the development and implementation of processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery. Serves as PCQI in the maintenance of the company food safety program.
· Adheres to quality standards and parameters for products.
· Communicates quality standards and parameters among QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.
· Develops and adheres to product testing processes.
· Conducts raw material and finished product testing.
· Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues by use of root cause investigation and corrective actions. Tracks and maintains Corrective action and OFI logs.
· Obtains and assesses customer requirements; ensures they are met. Monitors performance to customer standards.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
· Prepares for and conducts external and internal audits. Maintains required certifications, such as Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO and SQF.
· Specifies quality requirements of raw materials from suppliers; qualifies suppliers and audits as necessary.
· Writes and presents quality reports as requested. Records, analyzes and distributes quality data.
· Assists in the training of employees in food quality and food safety.
· Acts as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.
· Maintains product sample retain area. Conducts shelf-life studies.
· Performs calibrations of thermometers and other critical equipment.
· Provides support to operations through sample testing and evaluations.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Follows all safety procedures and policies.
· Foster teamwork consistent with the company’s mission, vision and core values.
· Responsible for compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
· The incumbent in this position will be positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology or related science preferred. High school diploma required.
· Three to five years of experience in related field required.
Physical Requirements:
· Standing and walking throughout the shift in varying temperatures including refrigerated and wet floor areas
· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
