Do you enjoy eating pickles and relish and wondered how these products are made? Canning, in the form of pickling, is a great way to enjoy seasonal foods all year long.
Penn State Extension in Cumberland County is offering the workshop “Pickling 101” on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:30 pm, at the Cumberland County Service Center, 310 Allen Road, Carlisle. Learn the scientific reasoning behind today’s recommended methods for making and processing pickled products while dispelling food preservation myths and unsafe practices of the past.
Instructors for the workshop are Nancy Routch, Extension Educator and Jo’Ann Godshall, Penn State Master Food Preserver Volunteer. The registration fee is $15. Call Penn State Extension at 240-6500 with questions about the workshop. To register for the workshop, go to https://extension.psu.edu/pickling-workshop or call 1-877-345-0691.
