Todd Drake started posting his prints as graffiti in New York City during the COVID pandemic. His goal was to give himself and others a visual “moral compass” as reminders to persist, to hold onto hope, and to strengthen our empathy for others. Drake, whose street art name is Quaker Pirate, has always blended his art making with an ethic service to others.
For Drake, his moral compass has always guided him through personal storms. These recent linocut prints reflect his seeing that of God in all people and his deep commitment to stewardship of the environment., children, and Peace. As we move through new storms, this exhibition seeks to share and open to reflection the value of this practice.
