Maintenance Technician III - Distribution Management

Responsibilities Include:
  • Working as a senior technician, you will provide essential guidance on repairs and serve as the primary onsite point of contact for Managers and Supervisors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, installations, inspections, and repairs on material handling equipment (MHE), conveyor systems, stretch wrappers, and case sealers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and dock equipment.
  • Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime and restore service levels.
  • Troubleshoot conveyor controls, sensors, motors, photo eyes, VFDs, and other automated equipment components.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on major equipment repairs, facility projects, capital improvements, vendor relationships, and maintenance planning activities.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and assist with oversight of vendor work activities.
  • Assist with spare parts management by identifying critical inventory needs and recommending replacement parts based on equipment condition and usage.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, preventative maintenance records, downtime documentation, and repair histories.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas in a safe, organized, and operational condition.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide after-hours or on-call maintenance support if needed. Includes potential travel to other DC’s for hands-on support.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Safety, IT, vendors, and management to support facility and equipment needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years’ experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Associates degree or certificate in technical education preferred.
  • Prior experience working with conveyance, electrical wiring, motor controls, sensors, actuators, and VFDs.
  • Ability to handle complex repairs with minimal supervision and train junior technicians as needed.
  • Ability to interpret electrical or mechanical schematics, manufacturer’s manuals to troubleshoot and repair system faults and failures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication to convey technical data and needs to peers, managers, and outside vendors.
  • Software skills, including Microsoft Office suite and other web-based applications
  • Possess time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, documentation accuracy, and adherence to maintenance procedures, schedules, and regulatory requirements.
