Greater Harrisburg REALTORS® Show Good Neighbor Spirit, Collect Nearly 8,000 School Supplies for Local Students in Need

ENOLA, PA - August 7, 2026 — The Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® Foundation is  celebrating the success of this year's Back to School Drive. REALTOR® and Business Partner  members across the greater Harrisburg region collected nearly 8,000 school supplies, including 1,680 erasers, 1,120 pens, 996 glue sticks, and 200 backpacks. The donations were given to Kick In For Kids, who will distribute the supplies to students in need throughout the Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Valley, and East Pennsboro school districts.The drive, which ran through August 3, invited GHAR members to donate supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, and other classroom essentials. Local brokerage offices played a central role in the effort, rallying agents and staff to collect donations on behalf of their communities. Participating offices included:

This year's drive also marks 10 years of GHAR's partnership with Kick In For Kids, a decade-long collaboration focused on making sure local students start the school year ready to learn. "For 10 years, our REALTOR® and Business Partner members have shown up for the students in our community, and this year was no exception," said Chris Pirritano, President of the GHAR Foundation Board. "Being a good neighbor means more than helping people buy and sell homes. It means investing in the community where we all live and work." Kick In For Kids will work directly with school counselors and staff in each district to identify students in need and ensure the donated items reach them before the start of the school year. The Back to School Drive is one of several community initiatives supported by the GHAR 
Foundation, which works throughout the year to strengthen the communities GHAR members serve.
