About the Allenberry Institute for Learning & Renewal
The Allenberry Institute for Learning & Renewal was founded in 2026 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Institute exists to create experiences that help people learn, reconnect, and renew—through nature, conservation, wellness, the arts, education, and meaningful engagement with one another. Rooted in the unique landscape and history of Allenberry and the Yellow Breeches, the Institute brings together people, ideas, and experiences that enrich individual lives while stewarding this special place for generations to come. The Institute plans to host a recurring series of educational talks, wellness retreats, workshops, and community programs at Allenberry Resort & Spa, drawing on the resort's setting along the Yellow Breeches Creek and its history as an Orvis-Endorsed Fly-Fishing Lodge.

“Allenberry has always been a place people come to reconnect — with nature, with each other, and with themselves,” said Justin Engle, General Manager of Allenberry Resort & Spa. “Establishing the Institute lets us formalize that work, bringing real science and real rest together under one roof. Starting with a conversation about the future of the Yellow Breeches at Allenberry felt like the right way to begin.”
